About Me

Hi! My name is Alanna Webster and I am the owner of Kangaroos and Cottontails. As a mother of 4, I have been sewing and crafting for my own kids about 4 years and have a never ending list of projects I’d love to finish someday. In my free time (ha!) I enjoy sewing, crocheting, reading, playing with our 4 dogs, gardening and hiking.

My degree may be in veterinary medicine, but my heart is being at home caring for and enjoying life with my family. My husband is a website designer and also gets to spend all of his days with the crazy circus that is our fabulous life.

Since I started sewing for my girls, people have been asking if I sold my creations and telling me that I should. Now I am thrilled to finally be able to create custom items for my friends and customers. Even if you don’t see exactly what you’re looking for on my site, please contact me and I’d be happy to discuss your ideas with you!

The name Kangaroos and Cottontails is a combination of my passion for babywearing and my love of cloth diapers. I started babywearing in 2006 when my oldest was born and cloth diapering soon afterward once the diapers we had been given ran out and we realized how expensive disposables were! I am a co-leader of both our local babywearing and La Leche League groups. I desire for all women to have the support and encouragement of other mamas so they can experience the fullness of life that parenting can bring.

My goal with Kangaroos and Cottontails is to create unique, upcycled and earth-friendly products for the budget conscious family. I believe that custom doesn’t have to come with a huge pricetag and upcycling is a great way to save money while giving my creations a unique or vintage look.

Thanks for looking!
